Am I an Indologist?

You are if you study any topic concerning Indian civilization such as its literature, rituals, religion, philosophy, grammar, science and social history or archaeology and art history on the basis of texts in the original language. If you are still uncertain that your contribution would be suitable, please don’t hesitate to contact us at iigrsuk@gmail.com.


I have already completed my doctorate; can I still apply to present a paper?

You are very welcome to present a paper if you have completed your doctorate within the last five years.


I am not intending to present a paper; can I still attend the conference?

Of course! Anyone who wishes to register to attend is very much encouraged to do so and participate.


I am currently not enrolled in a graduate degree; do I still qualify as a graduate?

You still qualify to participate even if you are not currently enrolled in a graduate degree, provided that you have completed a degree within the last three years. So if you have completed a Masters but have not yet enrolled for a doctoral degree you are just as welcome to apply to present a paper.


Do I need to take up accommodation at …?

The organisers will not arrange accommodation in Cambridge. You are welcome to contact them for suggestions on places to stay.


Will I be able to publish my contribution?

All participants presenting a paper at the symposium will have the chance to submit an article based on their presentations for the current volume in the series Pupikā: Tracing Ancient India Through Texts and Traditions. Contributions to Current Research in Indology.
